Little Hen & Her Lazy Friends
Bed Time Stories for Kids
Short Stories with Moral
Once upon a time, there live four animals in a forest, a little redhead small hen, a dog, a cat and a yellow duck. All the time, the cat remained sleeping, dog rested and the yellow duck made noise and enjoyed swimming into a nearby stream. The hen was very hardworking whereas the rest of her friend was lazy and selfish.
One day the hen found some wheat seeds in the earth. She was happy. Being wise, she decided to instead of eating it, sow these into the soil and get more wheat. It was an excellent idea. The hen called her friends and said, Hey guys! Look I found some seeds. Let's go and plant them. Please help me to do so.”
I am tired. I cannot join you. I am going to sleep. Replied the cat.
Please forgive at this time. I could not sleep well during the night. The lazy dog answered.
Oh, God! It is too hot. I am feeling uncomforted. Please let me go to the stream to swim. The yellow duck also refused to help the redhead. So the little redhead went alone and planted the seeds by herself. When the seeds grew into wheat and the time of its cropping reached, the hen asked her friends, Oh my dear friends! “Let join and cut the crop. Please help me to harvest the crop. We will have enough food for the winter.”Requested the hen.
Dear hen! “I am not feeling well today. Please forgive me this time.” Dog responded.
Oh my sweetheart! “At this time I cannot help you. I have to meet with my close friend. You don’t imagine how I am feeling unhappy to refuse you.” Replied the cat.
The matter of the lazy duck was also not different from her other friend. She also refused trough making lame excuses. So the little red hen went alone and harvested the crops by herself, The wheat needed to be taken to the mill and ground into flour. The hen once again asked her friends to help her to take the heavy grain to the grinding mill. This time, as usual, her friends made baseless excuses and the hen had to do it alone. The little redhead carried the heavy wheat to the flour mill by herself. She alone winded it into flour, sends it into a sack and brought it back to the farm.
Friend! I am very tired. Who will help me to bake the bread?
Not I replied the dog.
I, too, not. Answered the duck.
“Me too.” Refused the cat.
The tired head had to bake all the bread by herself. The bread smells so great.
“Who will help me to eat this tasty bread?” The hen asked her friends.
How sweet! “You are so nice. It will join you. “The dog responded without losing any moment.
“I am also feeling hunger very. I have not eaten anything since last night. Certainly, cccccccccc I will be happy to join your treat. “The duck also agreed to enjoy the meal.
“If all the friends are with you, how I can be left out of it? We all are good friends and should be all to gather. “Replied the duck.
Get out from here! “I was just making fool of you. If you have no contribution, you have no right to celebrate. I will eat all this delicious bread by myself.” So the little redhead ate all the bread by herself and enjoyed it completely whereas the reaming friend had no arguments against it.
