Short Stories with Moral
A fox was very cunning and mischievous. He won the trust of other animals through her sweet and soft words and then played tricks and cheated the simple animals. Once day so happened that the fox met a stork and befriended the stork and behaved like a sincere friend. The fox invited the stork to honor him ad have a feast, which the stork happily accepted.
On the day when the feast was decided, the stork went to the fox’s house. The fox pretended to be ill and asked for forgiveness as he could not make a big feast as promised. The clever fox just offered some soup, which was in a shallow bowl. The poor stork could take any soup as it had a long bill, but the fox easily licked the soup. The stork just touched the soup with the tip of its bill. This made the stork very disappointed and dejected.
Oh, my dear friend! “How you find the soup? Why you are not taking it? It seems that you do not like it?” Asked the fox.
The hungry stork could understand the hidden insult but he replied, “Soup is excellent and tasty but my stomach is not good and it can’t digest anymore!”
“How sad it is. It took me too hard to prepare the soup.” Said the fox.
“Don’t need to worry. I have some health issues”. The stork replied.
When the feats were over, stork thanked the fox and invited him to her house for dinner. The cunning fox happily accepted the invitation and promised to join the feat. The day of feast arrived and the fox reached the stork’s home. After exchanging pleasantries, the stork served soup. The soup was in a narrow jar with a long neck. She was able to take the soup easily but the fox could not even taste the soup. The stork was taking soup whereas the fox was just watching her.
Oh, dear guest! “Why are you not taking the soup? It seemed that you don’ like its taste?” Asked the stork.
The fox could not answer however he had fully understood. He remembered the feast he himself had arranged for the stork and felt ashamed.
“It’s better to leave now. I have to a tummy ache.” Replied the fox and left the place running.
